Threads of Legacy - The Heritage of Pashmina Craft

Wrapped in warmth, woven with heritage—Pashmina is more than just a textile. It is a living expression of Kashmir’s cultural soul, passed down through generations. At Pashtush, we celebrate this legacy by reviving the rare and ancient art of handwoven Pashmina—crafted from the softest Cashmere wool of the Himalayas and rooted deeply in history, tradition, and artistry.
For centuries, the people of Kashmir have regarded Pashmina weaving not just as a skill, but as a way of life. This timeless art has been lovingly handed down through families, often within the same household, where both men and women contribute their expertise. These master artisans continue to use traditional methods, combined with an intuitive understanding of the natural world, to transform the fine undercoat of Changthangi goats into fabrics of exceptional softness and elegance.
The art of Pashmina finds its roots in Ladakh, a land of dramatic landscapes and pure air, where the rare Capra Hircus (Changthangi goats) graze freely across the plateaus. These goats grow a thick, soft undercoat during the icy winters, which they naturally shed in spring.

This treasured wool is then transported to Kashmir, where its transformation into Pashmina begins—through careful cleaning, drying, spinning, and weaving, all done by hand using age-old tools and techniques.
Today, a Pashtush Pashmina shawl is more than a luxurious accessory. It is a story of endurance, a symbol of grace, and a celebration of culture. Whether you drape it over your shoulders or pass it down as an heirloom, you're embracing a legacy that spans mountains, centuries, and countless hands.
